Our day in ‘The Sun’!
Working on large-scale strategic sites can mean that appearances at planning committees are few and far between, so it was with anticipation and trepidation that we presented the Elms Park proposals for consideration to special committees of Tewkesbury and Cheltenham councils last Thursday. After nearly two decades of work on the project, we were delighted to receive ringing endorsements from both committees for the proposals, which are essential to the delivery of the sub-regional Joint Core Strategy.
A considered reporting of the outcome from the LPAs can be found here: A joint statement about Elms Park | Cheltenham Borough Council with a more colourful one here: Britain's £2.5BILLION newest town next to major motorway is unveiled in blueprint for 4,000 homes, new shops & hotel | The Sun – after all, it’s not every day your planning application gets reported positively in a ‘Red-Top’!
Our thanks to Bloor Homes and Persimmon Homes for their support throughout, and to the project team who stuck to the task with persistence and tenacity to ensure that all the issues arising were satisfactorily addressed.
We look forward to progressing the proposals through the S106 stage to achieve planning permission, and thereafter through various Design and Reserved Matters approvals such that the new settlement can be built out.
