The Radcliffe School

White Peak Planning has been retained as planning advisor to The Radcliffe School as part of a longstanding involvement in the redevelopment of the specialist sports college.  We have successfully secured planning consent for a series of unique proposals that have responded to the growing demand for school places in Milton Keynes. 

We successfully applied to vary the school’s original planning application for redevelopment, allowing the redevelopment to come forward in phases.

The second phase planning permission related to the demolition of an existing disused gymnasium and changing rooms and construction of a new front entrance to the school, associated reception area and two-storey Sixth Form Block.  We have subsequently secured a series of planning permissions for scheme revisions. 

Additionally, we have protected the school against enforcement action by successfully proving that the use of an existing access to the school is lawful.  We navigated the extensive planning history, to demonstrate lawful use of an existing gated access into the school.  We clearly presented evidence for use by Council Officers and Members and enabled the school’s Head Teacher and Governors to press for an urgent review of the case.  We averted potentially expensive and unnecessary enforcement action.
