New Submission: The Park, Northern Moor
We have submitted a full application for 35 homes on the site of The Park in Northern Moor to Manchester City Council.
Watson Homes, which acquired the vacant site from JW Lees in March, plans to knock down the pub and develop a block of one- and two-bedroom affordable apartments reaching four storeys at its tallest point.
The proposed building steps from four storeys at the corner of Moorcroft Road and Sledmoor Road down to two storeys alongside existing homes.
The development is located on the northern edge of Wythenshawe Park and around three miles north-west of Wythenshawe Civic Centre.
Rob Watson, director at Watson Homes, said the project aligns with the developer’s general regeneration ethos.
“Transforming brownfield sites like this one into high-quality places where people can live, work and play is at the heart of our approach to regeneration.
“This plot has been vacant for several years, and we’re pleased to be taking the first steps towards bringing it back into productive use for the community.
“We’ve engaged proactively with Manchester City Council to design a scheme that complements the local area and will deliver long-term benefits for the community.”
