Volunteering Day
The White Peak Planning team volunteered with the Peak District Peak Park Conservation Volunteers (PPCV) for the fifth time! The PPCV have worked for over 40 years to protect the Peak District National Park with the help of volunteers.
In the past we have created drainage routes on footpaths in Bleaklow, restored a cairn at the top of Jacobs Ladder, built a dry stone wall around a trig point on Black Hill and cleared vegetation and drainage outlets along a bridleway in Glossop.
This year we were working on the trail around Bottoms Reservoir in Tintwistle, creating a new footpath which allowed walkers to avoid some of the trip hazards created by tree roots. After all our hard work we went to refuel at the Bull’s Head with great homemade food and lovely owners.
