EIA Coordination
On behalf of Cameron Homes, White Peak Planning has acted as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Co-ordinator in support of an outline application to Lichfield District Council (LDC) for a major residential development at Land South of Highfields Road, Chasetown.
The proposals include up to 430 new homes, public open space including areas of play, and pedestrian and cycle links.
Prior to our involvement, an EIA Screening Opinion and EIA Screening Direction were received, confirming that an Environmental Statement (ES) would be required. Due to tight timescales for submission of the application, we agreed with LDC that the advice contained within the Screening Direction provided sufficient guidance on the scope of the EIA and that a formal EIA Scoping Request was therefore not required.
Through these discussions, we were able to keep the scope of the EIA limited to just three topics and subsequently co-ordinated the EIA and preparation of the ES for submission with the outline planning application.
