Bloor Homes and Persimmon Homes
On behalf of Bloor Homes Western and Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, White Peak Planning has provided strategic planning advice, Project Management services, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) co-ordination and has produced the Sustainability Strategy for a Strategic Urban Extension to the north west of Cheltenham.
The proposals will deliver up to 4,115 new homes including affordable housing (C3) and a care village of approximately 200 dwellings (C2), a 10 Ha business park, a transport hub, new schools, a district and local centre with community facilities including parks, playing pitches, allotments and orchards.
We carefully planned and implemented the project, keeping the budgets in order and meeting deadlines. For each stage of the project we appraised the key issues and instructed consultants accordingly. We have managed the EIA process, from initial screening through to production of the ES, undertaking appraisals of the technical chapters and cross-referencing them to ensure consistency.
We have also led the production of the over-arching Sustainability Strategy for the site. This includes an innovative decentralised low carbon multi-utility solution for the provision of site-wide services and on-site surface water treatment and re-use.
After successfully promoting the site through the Joint Core Strategy (JCS) process, the site has been removed from the green belt and allocated for a strategic mixed-use development in the JCS.
An outline planning application has subsequently been submitted and is currently awaiting determination.
