Appeal Allowed: Palatine Road, Manchester
Updated: Jun 30
White Peak Planning has successfully appealed against the refusal of the proposed change of use of 12-14 Palatine Road, Manchester from apartments to offices.
The planning application by JPS Property was refused by Manchester City Council in March 2017 due to the loss of residential rental accommodation and also because the site is located outside of the areas identified in the Core Strategy for employment and economic development in South Manchester.
However, the Inspector agreed with the evidence provided by White Peak Planning that there is sufficient available residential rental accommodation in the local area and that the location of the site formed part of a mix of non-residential uses associated with Withington Centre and The Christie Hospital. The proposals therefore, passed the Sequential Test.
